Qorasuv district: 20 pump stations for 20 high-rise buildings

October 15, 20263 min read
In Samarkand's Qorasuv district, AGROMIR BUILDINGS has completed another twenty 16-storey buildings. We, the BMS team, built a pump station for each of them to deliver water right up to the top floor — and handed everything over in two months. Here is how the project went.

Qorasuv: a new town within Samarkand

Qorasuv is one of the city's largest new residential districts. AGROMIR BUILDINGS is developing it in phases: dozens of monolithic high-rises, playgrounds and landscaped courtyards. By 2021 the company had already built 47 high-rises here — 3,588 apartments in all. Each of the 20 buildings in the latest phase needed a reliable round-the-clock supply of drinking water.

Why does every building need a station?

City mains pressure usually reaches only a few floors. On the upper floors of a 16-storey building, water either stops or barely trickles. So each building needed its own station to keep pressure up automatically. The client's brief was clear: 20 identical, reliable stations — fast and under warranty.

Our solution

For each building we built a two-pump station: one pump runs, the other stands by. Even when one pump is taken out for maintenance, the building keeps its water. The stations use the following equipment:
  • SHIMGE BLT 20-7 stainless-steel vertical multistage pumps — 40 in total
  • SAJ PDH smart variable frequency drives — one per pump, 40 in total
  • A membrane tank and a BMS manifold in every station
The drive adjusts pump speed to demand: slow at night when little water is used, faster in the morning and evening peaks. The result is steady pressure at every tap, no water hammer and lower electricity bills.

20 stations in two months

The order came in on 13 February 2026, and assembly began in our workshop a week later. The stations were built in series to a single design, and every one was tested before delivery. On 20 April all 20 stations were handed over — exactly on the agreed date.
Today twenty 16-storey buildings in Qorasuv receive their water through BMS stations, each covered by a 24-month warranty.
