Filters6-stage water filter: why you need it and how it works
What each stage of a reverse osmosis system removes and how it differs from ordinary filters.
Read →A poorly chosen pump means wasted money, low pressure and frequent repairs. In this article we cover the key criteria for choosing a pump for your home and yard.
For boreholes use screw or centrifugal submersible pumps, for wells — submersible or surface pumps, and for dirty water and basements — drainage pumps. Misidentify the source and the pump will fail quickly.
Head = borehole depth + 1/10 of the distance to the house + building height + a 20% reserve. For example, a 30 m borehole and a two-storey house require a pump with at least 45–50 m of head.
An average family (4–5 people) needs 2–3 m³/h of flow. Add another 1–2 m³/h for garden irrigation. Don't oversize the pump — it costs more and consumes more energy.
Dry-run protection is a must: when water runs out, the pump shuts off automatically and the motor doesn't burn out. Voltage surge protection is also very useful in Uzbekistan's conditions.
